PREPARATION OF THE SUPPORT AND APPLICATION CYCLE
New iron. When it is not possible to sandblast, prepare the substrate with a mechanical brush or abrasive disc. The substrate must be clean, dry and well degreased, free from rust or traces of calamine. Remove brushing residues. Clean the surface with a rag soaked in Thinner 107 or Thinner 900. Apply 1 coat of SOTTOFONDO ARANCIO AT primer followed by a second coat after 24 hours if necessary. Overpaint with the required finishing enamel.
Already painted iron.If the old paints are not perfectly anchored or crumbly, they must be removed mechanically. Traces of rust must be removed with a mechanical brush or abrasive disc and sanded with medium abrasive paper (280-320). Clean the surface with a rag soaked in Thinner 107 or Thinner 900. Allow to dry thoroughly. Apply 1 coat of SOTTOFONDO ARANCIO-AT on the ironed parts, possibly followed by a second coat after 24 hours. Overpaint with the required finishing enamel.
